William Dwight Corya, 80, passed away on Sunday, November 18, 2018, at I.U. Health Ball Memorial Hospital.
He was born on Saturday, September 24, 1938, in Muncie, Indiana, the son of Harold and Ruth (Gerand) Corya. William was a truck driver and retired from Marathon Oil Company after twenty-eight years of employment. He enjoyed fishing and was an avid woodworker. William was also a member of the Yorktown Lion’s Club. He also served proudly in the United States Navy.
Survivors include his children, Jerry Corya, Byrdstown, Tennessee, Mike (Debbie Williams), Muncie, and Connie Alderman, Yorktown; ten grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; one brother, Richard Corya; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Judy Corya; one daughter, Terry Korhorn; one sister, Kay Paul; and one brother, Ted Corya.
Services to honor Williams’ life will be held 1:00 p.m. Friday, November 23, 2018, at Elm Ridge Funeral Home, 4600 West Kilgore Avenue, Muncie, Indiana 47304. Burial will follow in Elm Ridge Memorial Park with Military Honors performed by the United States Navy and the Veterans of Delaware County.
