Obituary of Yong Hi Morris
Yong Hi (Yi) Morris, beloved mother and grandmother, passed away on Monday, May 31, 2021, after an illness. She was born in Daego, Korea, the daughter of Lee Jong Yi and Hyung Hei. She met and married the love of her life, David Morris and came to the U.S. in 1964, and they later divorced. Yong Hi worked diligently to earn her citizenship in the U.S. She worked for Eaton Canning Factory, Duffy Tool and Die, and then seven years at General Motors Factory. She then worked at Borg Warner for twenty four years, until she retired in March of 2006. She was a seamstress in Korea for many years. She helped to raise her brothers and sisters after their mother died. An avid Bingo player and that was her favorite thing to do. That is where she met most of her lifelong friends. Christmas was her favorite holiday. When the children were young, her Korean friends that came to the U.S. would all get together to have a cookout, play cards for hours, and the kids would have fun.
