Obituary of James Charles Morgan
James C. Morgan, 74, passed away unexpectedly in his residence in Nashville, IN on February 14, 2018. Jim was born in Indianapolis, Indiana to the late Vance Morgan and M. Madeline(Perry)Marshall on December 8, 1943. Jim’s father Vance, died when Jim was only two years old. Jim’s mother Madeline met and married Dan Marshall who was proud to become the father figure in Jim’s young life. Jim grew up in the Irvington neighborhood of Indianapolis where he spoke of the many fond memories of his childhood. Jim met and married Mary Mathwig on January 16, 1965 during which time he was enlisted in the US Air Force. He was a Master Instructor in the Air Force from 1962-1969. After being honorably discharged from the Air Force he became the Director of Education for ITT Educational Services in Dayton, Ohio. Upon his retirement, Jim moved to Brown County, Indiana where he enjoyed being with his friends and family. He is survived by his two children: James(fiancé Carmella Baker) Morgan of Miamisburg, Ohio and Amy(husband Brian)Conaway of Fishers, Indiana, his brother Daniel ”Manny” Marshall, II and his nephew Evan Marshall. Jim is also survived by two grandsons: Brendan and Jason Morgan and three step grandchildren. Visitation for Jim will be held on Monday, February 19, 2018 from 12 -2 p.m. in Bond-Mitchell Funeral Home, 1682 State Rd. 135 North, Nashville, Indiana 47448. The funeral service will follow the visitation at 2 p.m. Burial will be held in Weeping Willow Cemetery, Bean Blossom, Indiana with military honors presented by the Brown County Honor Guard and the Air Force Honor Guard.
