Obituary of Wilbur Wil Harold Crawley III
Wilbur Harold Crawley III, age 61, of Nashville passed away December 12. He was born January 15, 1951 in Cincinnati, Ohio. Wilbur was the son of Wilbur Crawley II who preceded him in death & Mary A. (Lang) Crawley of Brookville, IN. Wilbur was a graduate of Whitewater High School in 1969 & Purdue University in 1989 with a degree in Electrical Engineering. He joined the U.S. Navy in 1969 serving aboard the USS Will Rogers (SSBN-659) & the USS Valdez (FF-1096). He then joined U.S. Naval Reserves where he attained the rank of Senior Chief. He was an employee of Faurecia Emissions Control Technologies in Columbus, IN. Wil started his career with Arvin in May, 1990 as an Advanced Acoustical Engineer. From there he was promoted to Manager, Test and Validation, then to Chief Engineer, Durability and Testing. He progressed to Chief Engineer of Advanced Engineering. His most current role was Chief Engineer, CVE Technology. Throughout his career, Wil was granted 13-patents and has 6-pending currently. He was a Senior Expert of Systems Electric and Electronic Architecture. He was a well-respected mentor and a true visionary in technology. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, December 15 at 11:30 A.M. at St. Agnes Catholic Church, 1008 McClary Road, Nashville, with Father Eric Johnson officiating. The family will receive visitors at the church Saturday from 9:30 A.M.-11:30 A.M. Burial will take place Monday, December 17 at 11:00 A. M. at Holy Guardian Angel Church Cemetery, 405 U. S. Highway 52, Cedar Grove, IN. Wilbur is survived by his wife, Julianna (Burch) Crawley, Nashville, his daughter, Anna Elizabeth Crawley, his son, Joshua Will Crawley, both of Nashville, mother, Mary Crawley, Brookville, IN, sisters, Cynthia (Kenny) Reed, Brookville, IN, Monica (Nick) Fritsch, Sunman, IN, Mary (Daren) Back, Sunman, IN, Laura (Darrell) Hoog, St. Peters, IN, Lisa (Vince) Carr, Maineville, OH, Barbara (Timothy) Arnold, Clarksville, IN, brothers, Martin (Chantel) Crawley, Brookville, IN, Philip (Tamara) Crawley, Brookville, IN, Brian (Pamela) Crawley, Milan, IN, Michael (Julie) Crawley, Yorkville, IN, & half sisters, Jennie (Nate) Burgess, Brookville, In, & Mantissa Rookard, Jelico, TN.
