David R. King
June 19, 1933 – December 6, 2012

David R. King, 79, passed away Thursday at his home. Dave served his country in the U.S. Army and was a veteran of the Korean War. He received a medal for National Defense with the Army of Occupation. After working as a stores and property supervisor for ICI Americas, he enjoyed many years of retirement, traveling with his wife to Las Vegas, Hawaii, and other destinations. He was a devout Christian and attended St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church and was a former member of Broadway Church of the Nazarene. He was a football and basketball fan, following IU, UofL, and the Indianapolis Colts.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde and Esther King, sister, Catherine Klinstiver, and wife Delaine King
He is survived by:
Wife of 24 years: Mary Helen Blake-King
Sons: Darius King (Cheryl)
Dean King (Connie)
Stepdaughter: Jan Blake-Pearson (Joe)
Grandchildren: Amber Burkheart, Alisha Lopez, and David King
Five Great Grandchildren
Brother: Alan King
Visitation will be from 3:00 pm ~ 8:00 pm Monday at Kraft Funeral Service, 708 E. Spring St., New Albany, Indiana. His Funeral Service will be 11:00 am Tuesday at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 316 N. Sherwood Ave., Clarksville, Indiana, with burial to follow at Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park in New Albany, Indiana.
