Obituary of James L. Jackson
James L. “Jimmy Jack” Jackson, 76, passed away on August 19, 2019 with his family at his side. He was born on January 12, 1943 in New Albany, Indiana to the late Martha C. Magness Jackson and James H. Jackson Sr. Jimmy proudly served his country in the United States Air Force during the Cold War, Cuban Crisis and Vietnam Conflict. He was an Eagle Scout and a proud member of the Order of the Arrow. Jimmy loved music, woodworking and sports, especially Red Socks baseball and Indiana basketball. Jimmy retired from Electrical Workers Local 369 and the Pillsbury Company. He was a life member of VFW Post 3281, American Legion Post 28, 40/8 Voiture Post 1250, and First Baptist Church, New Albany. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by a sister, Sandra Jo. He is survived by the love of his life and best friend of 57 years, Linda Kay Skinner Jackson; two beautiful daughters, Shelly Lynn Dillingham and Cathy Jo Tandy (Shawn); four precious grandchildren, Makayla Dillingham, Jackson Dillingham, Ally Tandy and Abby Tandy; a brother, Mike Jackson (Darlene); and a cousin, Terry Blunk (Cheri). Funeral Services to celebrate Jimmy’s life will be conducted on Saturday, August 24, 2019 at 10:00 am at Kraft Funeral Service, 2776 Charlestown Road with burial to follow in Kraft Graceland Memorial Park with military honors. Visitation will be from 2-8 on Friday, August 23, 2019 and from 9 until service time on Saturday.
