Edna “May” Schoen Klinstiver, 95 years of age passed away peacefully at her home on May 13, 2019. She was born on September 7, 1923 in New Albany, Indiana to the late William and Mary (Seitz) Schoen. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, a 50 year member of the Floyd County Homemakers, where she held many offices. May loved to sew, making over 400 Christmas stockings a year, crocheting prayer blankets, joining in making quilts with the LWML, quilted with the Willing Workers at Edwardsville United Methodist Church for many years, and made lap blankets for the VA. She was also a 4H leader for many years. May was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Leroy Schoen; sister, Mary Catherine Schoen; twin sister, Fay Gellhaus.
She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Elmer Klinstiver; son, Lee Klinstiver; daughters, Becky Fetz (Rick); step-daughter, June Rowland (John); grandchildren, Kimberly Bahr (Chris), Jennifer Miller-Woods; step-grandson, Gary Conrad; 10 great grandchildren; sister, Mildred Mayfield.
Visitation will be 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm Wednesday at Kraft Funeral Service, 2776 Charlestown Road, New Albany, Indiana and after 9:00 am Thursday at the church. Her funeral service will be held 10:30 am Thursday at Grace Lutheran Church, 1787 Klerner Lane, New Albany, Indiana with burial to follow at Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park in New Albany, Indiana.
The family requests expressions of sympathy to Hospaurs of Southern Indiana.
