Donovan C. Bechdel

Donovan Clair Bechdel, 81, was called to his final resting place on the day of May 5, 2021. He was born to the late Charles and Rebecca Bechdel in Lock Haven, PA. He retired as a senior chief after 20 years in the U.S. Navy and worked for Norship and QED for 28 years. Donovan was an avid bowler and a die-hard Steelers and Penn State fan. He also liked NASCAR and train rides. He was preceded in death by his wife, Beverly; daughter, Terri Sue Bechdel; brothers, Jack Bechdel of Bellefonte, PA and Charles Confair of Stanford, N.C. Left to cherish fond memories are companion, Iris Bufka of Chesapeake, VA; Donovan and Cathy Bechdel, Jr. of Norfolk, VA, Sherry and Barry Breniser of Willow Street, PA; three grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends. A memorial visitation will be held on Friday, May 28 from 2:00-4:00 pm at 6329 E. VA Beach Blvd., Norfolk, VA 23502 and a private burial at a later date.
