IN THE CARE OF
Woodlawn Funeral Home & Memorial Gardens
Madeleine L. Roberts, 83, went home to be with her beloved Saviour, Jesus Christ, on April 18, 2010. She was preceded in death by her parents Constance & Eugene Donnier, sister Odette Ryan, and her husband Glenn Roberts.
Left to cherish her life long memories are her five daughters & their husbands; Janice & George Diggs of Chesapeake, Valerie & Terry Siviter of VA Beach, Odette & Jimmy Harris of NC,Claudia & Phil Davenport of Chesapeake , Renee & Glenn Jones of VA Beach. Her 11 grandchildren; Michelle Diggs, Andrew Diggs, Madeleine Siviter, Jill Siviter, Brandon Harris, Mike Harris, Brad Davenport, Aimee Davenport, Don Jones, Jeff & Erena Jones, Paul & Alice Jones. Her great-grandchildren; Evan, Preston, and Taylor.
Madeleine was a homemaker and nurturer, so it was natural she would decide on a nursing career in midlife as the children got older. She worked her last 15 years at the Ballentine home. Her life long willingness to serve others continued through retirement as she was always available for whoever needed help or perhaps just an ear.
Her favorite things to do were; Bible reading to learn more about God's Kingdom, sewing, volunteering in the reading program, and listening to her daughter's daily news.
To all who knew Madeleine, they found a friend, confidant, peacemaker and counselor. We rise up to call her Blessed.
As requested by Madeleine, a private memorial graduation dinner was held to celebrate her life. The family wishes to thank all who so lovingly cared for Mother's needs. A special Thank You to Pat, Vangie, and Sahlee.
