Ofelia Heggen

Ofelia Heggen, 75, passed away in Virginia Beach on May 3, 2021. She was born in Texas to the late Ramon and Guadalupe Garcia with her sisters Connie Perez, Elidia Del Bosque, Bertha Rosales and brother Ramon Garcia. Ofelia can best be described as a loving selfless person; she devoted most of her time to her family and her church family. She was a longtime member of the House of David Church. When she wasn’t there, she was in her shop, Head 2 Toe Hair Salon, working her trade of 46 years as a hairdresser. Ofelia was a pillar of faith, a mother to the motherless, an example of service, a true Christian at heart. She leaves behind to cherish her memory her children, Steven Heggen and Janet Heuneman; grandchildren, Meghan Butler-Buehler, Angel Heggen, Christian Heggen, John Heuneman, Hope Heuneman, Joel Heuneman, and Zachery Heuneman; great grandchildren, Silver, Chevelle, Grayson and Orin as well as a host of other extended family members. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. A funeral service will be conducted at 2pm, Saturday, June 19, 2021 at Woodlawn Funeral Home.
