Lillian Wanita Werling

Lillian Wanita Werling, 87, rural Ossian, died Sunday morning, March 4, 2018 at her residence. She was born November 13, 1930 in Fort Wayne to Ersil James Norris and Tillie Belle (Anderson) Norris. She was a 1949 graduate of South Side High School in Fort Wayne. She married Orvil Werling April 21, 1956, in Fort Wayne. Her husband preceded her in death April 26, 1992. She was a homemaker all of her life and a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church in rural Ossian. Survivors include two sons, Colin (Beth) Werling of Fort Wayne and Glen (Julie) Werling of Ossian; four grandchildren, David and Carl Werling, both of Fort Wayne, and Jacob and Nathanael Werling of Ossian; and six nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Kevin M. Werling. Funeral services will be at 11:00 am on Saturday, March 10, at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 7545 North 650 East, Ossian, with calling one hour prior. Calling will also be from 5:00-8:00 pm on Friday, March 9, at the Elzey-Patterson-Rodak Funeral Home, 120 West Mill St., Ossian. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Bethlehem Lutheran School Endowment Fund.
