ROBERT L. EMERICK, 84, of Ossian, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 17, 2010, at Visiting Nurse & Hospice Home. Born June 30, 1926, in Allen County, he was the son of the late Joseph E. and Minnie (Snyder) Emerick. He served in the Navy during WWII aboard the USS Chicago. He retired from BF Goodrich, after 14 years, as Maintenance Supervisor, and also worked 23 years at Peter Eckrich & Sons. He enjoyed his carpentry work, boating, fishing, and riding motorcycles. The most important thing in his life was his wife, children, grandchildren, and the “greats.” He was a member of Dunfee Christian Church and also attended Living Faith Missionary. Surviving family include his wife of 65 years, Arnola (Genth); daughters, Bev (Jerry) Barker of Ossian, Vicki Goodwin of Fort Wayne and Kim (Phil) Baker of Ossian; brother, Kenneth Emerick of Columbia City; six grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. Funeral service is 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 22, 2010 at Living Faith Missionary Church,17718 State Road 1, Yoder with calling one hour prior. Pastor Joel gregory will be officiating. Calling also from 2 to 5 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday Nov. 21, 2010 at Elzey-Patterson-Rodak Home for Funerals, 6810 Old Trail Road, Fort Wayne. Burial will take place at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
