Alma Iris Verelle Vaughan

VAUGHAN, Alma Iris Verelle, 88, of Richmond, died June 5, 2018. She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond D. Vaughan, her parents, Charmlyn and Alma Verelle; her siblings Thelma Nuckols, Garland Verelle, Clinton Verelle, Elsie Tease, and Marion Mason. She is survived by her three loving daughters: Martha V. Isaacs (Garland), Nancy V. Miller (Glenn) and Patricia V. Reid (J.B. Reid, deceased.) She was a loving, doting grandmother to her grandchildren: Meagan Doan (Jimmy), Logan Miller (Callee), Jason Reid (Alanna), Jesse Reid, Sam Isaacs, Nathan Isaacs, Mark Isaacs, and Hannah Isaacs. Iris enjoyed her three great grandchildren, Dylan, Maddox, and Gabrielle Reid. Also, she is survived by a loving niece Allyne Webster (Bob), nephews Clint Verelle (Mei Ling Chen), and Chris Nuckols (Janice); and is survived by her treasured best friend, Jane Miller. Iris retired after 25 years in the federal government which included work for the VA, the WSB, the OCC, the IRS, and the Comptroller of the Currency. She was a member of St Giles Presbyterian Church for many years and then attended The Church on the Avenue for several years. The family will receive visitors Friday, June 8th at 10 am with a funeral service following at 11:00 am at the Woody Funeral Home 1771 N Parham Road, Richmond, VA 23229. Burial will be at Forrest Lawn Cemetery.
