Barry Bivens Alderson

Barry Bivens Alderson, 77, of Henrico, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, April 26, 2021. He is survived by his beloved wife, Leslie Alderson; daughter, Regina Benninghove and her husband, Chris; grandchildren, Cullen, Ayslin and Brenna Benninghove; brother, Keith Alderson and his wife, Janet; sister, Donna Gee; nieces, Sharon Norman and Christy Alderson; three great nephews and one great niece; loving cats, Damien, Bobby and Colleen and many other loving family and friends. Barry was very active in his church, Hopeful Baptist, and played a major role in the Alumni Association for the Virginia School for the Blind. He loved spending time with his family and his cats and had a passion for collecting model cars. The family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, May 4, 2021 at Woody Funeral Home-Parham. His funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, May 5, 2021 at the funeral home. He will be laid to rest at 3 p.m. on May 5, 2021 at Forest Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions be made to the Virginia School for the Blind, 104 VSDB Dr., Staunton, VA 24401.
