Nadine Janette McAlister Hammer

Mrs. Nadine Janette Hammer, 85, of Shenandoah passed away Friday morning, September 6, 2013, at the Rockingham Memorial Hospital.
A daughter of the late Robert and Pearl Good McAlister, she was born on March 14, 1928 in Page County.
She lived her entire life in Page County and Shenandoah and was a homemaker. She attended Naked Creek Baptist Church.
On July 21, 1951, she married Elwood Hammer who survives.
Surviving are four daughters, Sharon A. Taylor, Ann Meadows, Misty Eppard, and Melissa Ann Crawford, all of Elkton; three sons, Clyde M. Hammer, of Mt. Jackson, William Hammer, of Shenandoah, and Allen Hammer, of Elkton; ten grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one sister, Catherine Hilliards, of Page County; and one brother, James McAlister, of Florida. She was preceded in death by two sons, Robert Hammer and Bobby Hammer.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 10, 2013 at 2:00 P.M. at the chapel of the Lindsey-Kyger Funeral Home with Rev. Jimmy Kite officiating. Burial will follow in the McAlister cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Monday evening, September 9, 2013 from 7:00 - 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home or anytime at the home of her daughter, Sharon Taylor.
