Joan Harriet (Morgenstern) Simons

Joan Harriet Morgenstern Simons passed away peacefully on September 20 at her home in Springfield, VA, where she had resided for over 55 years. Mrs. Simons was a loving mother to sons Allan and Mark Simons and daughter Amy Stup, and beloved mother-in-law to Susan Simons and Jeffrey Stup. She is predeceased by her husband Jay Simons. Born in Brooklyn, NY, Mrs. Simons attended Brooklyn College before settling in Northern Virginia, working as both a homemaker and most recently for the Fairfax Bar Association, where she continued her employment well into her 80’s. She recently celebrated her 88th birthday with family and friends this past August. Besides her children, she leaves behind her sister Helene Leone, and grandchildren Julie, Aaron and Joseph Stup; Whitney Johnson and Kelly Simons, and great grandchildren Ava and Eli as well as other beloved family members. Burial services will be private.
