Lorraine B. Deihr, of Alexandria, Virginia, died at her residence in the Aarondale Retirement and Assisted Living facility in Springfield, Virginia, on Thursday, April 24, 2014 at the age of 94. Lorraine was the loving mother of Charles Tracy (Peggy) Deihr and Marilyn Ann Deihr, and a devoted grandmother to Ashley Elizabeth Deihr and Bryan Charles (Kayleigh) Deihr. Lorraine was born on May 31, 1919 in Washington, DC. She attended George Washington University and Strayer College before beginning a long career as an administrative assistant with the Department of Defense. She later started a real estate business, Tramar Properties, building, selling, and renting properties in Northern Virginia. Lorraine loved to read, dance, travel to Europe, and spend time at Tramar Point, the house she built for her family on the Potomac River. She avidly tracked trends in the stock market until she was well into her nineties, and was an enthusiastic supporter of Warren Buffett. She was well known for writing poetry to commemorate the special occasions of family and friends, and possibly even better known for her love of chocolate. A funeral service will be held at 12:00 pm on Saturday, May 03, 2014 at Demaine Funeral Home in Springfield, Virginia. Interment will follow at 1:30 pm at Fairfax Memorial Park at 9902 Braddock Road, Fairfax, Virginia 22030.
