I first met Tammy when our boys played baseball together in 2010. We also both attended St. Bernadette's parish. She told me how much she loved the Angelus Academy. That thought stuck with me and later we enrolled our younger son, Paul, who Tammy was able to teach in band in 2017-8. I was always touched by how genuinely kind and sweet Tammy was to me and how encouraging she was to Paul. We're keeping Tammy's soul and her family in our prayers.

I will always remember how welcoming Tammy was when I was new to the Army band. One memory that stands out is how she graciously offered to pick me up from the airport after I came home from visiting my mom who had been hospitalized due to complications from emphysema. Her mom also smoked, so she understood without judgement. A more comical memory is when she painted my face with a ton of Mary-Kay. I never got the hang of applying most make-up properly, but I knew she’d worked wonders that night by the looks of the others who were there. James and family, please accept my sincerest condolences on your loss.

Tammy was such a dear friend! We played music together in the Owensboro Symphony, Evansville Philharmonic and several University Of Evansville music ensembles. She was an outstanding musician which was only outmatched by her genuine love and kindness she had for her family and friends. I am proud of her willingness to serve our country through her musical ability, as well.
The news of her passing is so unexpected and shocking. I will miss my friend dearly. I look forward to seeing her smiling face again up in Heaven.
I am sending up prayers for Tammy, her family and all those whose lives were made that much more special just by having the privilege of knowing this wonderful lady we are honored to call our friend.
