Glenn Alan Massie, 62, of Staunton passed away December 15, 2016 in his sleep at home due to a heart condition. Born April 3, 1954 in Staunton, he was a son of the late Glenwood R. and Nora L. (Steele) Massie. Mr. Massie graduated from R.E. Lee High School Class of 1972 and Old Dominion University in 1976. He had recently been employed at Monties Sports. He was preceded in death by his brothers-in-law, Tom Vass and Richard Drake. Survivors include his sisters, Carolyn Vass and husband, Dennis Whitley of Fishersville and Betty Drake of Charlottesville; two nieces; a nephew; and six great nephews. Following his wishes, he will be cremated and a private graveside service will be conducted by Dr. Cynthia Long at a later date. In lieu of a visitation, food or flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of one’s choice. Relatives and friends may share condolences and memories with the family online by visiting

I was saddened to learn of Glenn's death. He was a tremendous help to my family on a Thanksgiving Day several years ago and has been a joy to talk to more recently at the Mall where he was employed.
