Shirley Ann Lanum

Shirley Ann (Martin) Lanum, 84, of Staunton, passed away on Wednesday, June 26, 2019 at Shenandoah Nursing and Rehabilitation in Fishersville.
She was born in Augusta County on April 18, 1935, a daughter of the late Samuel Houston and Effie Beverly Martin.
Shirley retired from V.S.D.B. in 1998.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George Calvin Lanum, Sr. on May 6, 1993 and siblings, Lloyd D. Martin, Stella Clinton Martin, Virginia Shifflett, Fred Martin, Ralph Martin and Houston Martin.
Survivors include her children, George C. Lanum, Jr., Phillip L. Lanum, and Ruth Anne Lanum; siblings, Doris Harris, Diane Rice, Lorraine Wilson and Bernice Stump; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren; as well as extended family and friends.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 1, 2019 at Oaklawn Mausoleum & Memory Gardens. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery.
There will be no public viewing or visitation at the funeral home.
The family would like to express a heartfelt thank you to the staff Shenandoah Nursing and Rehabilitation for their loving care of Shirley and her family.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Staunton Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes.
