Dear extended family - I was sorry to see the obituary of Don's brother, Carl, in the newspaper. I immediately called my cousin Pam. I did tell her I had planned and hoped very much to drive up for the visitation but unfortunately work kept me until after 4:30 and I didn't want to come running in at the last minute during the service. The Smith family has always been an extended piece of the Foulkes family because of my mother, Martha Elliott, and Pam's mother, Joan Elliott. Don's children and my family are still close. I wanted to extend my condolences to your entire family. One by one we are all getting smaller. God bless you and comfort you all at this mournful time.

So sorry to hear of my cousins passing. He was a very sweet man and he helped dig the well for our house in North Terre Haute. He always took good care of my great grandmothers farm A Hoosier Homestead) in the Smith family for over 100 years. I grew up across the street so I could always enjoy seeing the cows in the pasture. He always put corn out front for sale (honor system) and worked so hard to keep crops in. My sincere condolences to Carol and all the family. Carl was a special man. Rest In Peace.

Carl used to come into the Farm Bureau Insurance office where I worked. Always had a story to tell about his railroad days and even brought me a picture of the old Coal Bluff Cobb tower that my Dad worked at for years. Always a kind man. Sorry for your loss.

Truly a wonderful neighbor always
Sharing sweet corn and stories of his past with me at the fence. Enjoyed his old school ways and story’s hints and advise for gardening and fruit basket when Larry was recovering from surgery.
Rest peacefully your forever at your farm
And happy days.❤️
