Hazel Turner Smith, 76, of Terre Haute, passed away on Sunday, September 4, 2011 at Union Hospital. She was born on September 10, 1934, in Terre Haute to Herman and Geraldine (Holderman) Turner. She married Robert G. Smith and together they raised two daughters. She was a homemaker who loved crafting.
Hazel is survived by her daughters, Debbie Hastings and her husband Rick, and Bobbie Jenkins and her fiancée Brad Phillips, grandchildren, Robert and his wife Autumn, three great-grandchildren, Robyn, Brandon, and Harley, a brother, Walter Turner, sisters, Lola Ballard and Alberta Bayliff, a brother-in-law, Bid Smith, several nieces and nephews, and her best friends, Chingo Bob and Oreo, her beloved, little dogs.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a sister, Ella Maire, and brothers, Herman Jr., Charles and Joseph Turner.
Her family would like to thank the ICU staff at Union Hospital and the staff at the coffee shop for the care and kindness that was shown to Hazel and her family during her illness.
