Robert Kent Zwerner

Robert Kent Zwerner passed away in Tampa, Florida on Tuesday, July 2, 2013. Robert was born on October 3, 1943 to Paul and Martha (Sowers) Zwerner in Terre Haute. Robert was married to Janet Leigh (Boyd) Zwerner for 18 years before her passing in 1995. Robert earned his M.D and PhD and became a Bio Tech Scientist for Medical Research and retired with over 20 years of service in the scientific community. He loved gaining knowledge through reading and sharing his wisdom with others. Most of all he loved spending time with his family. Robert is survived by 4 children, Jennifer Leigh Nugent of Shelby, Al, Lori Elizabeth Zwerner of Valrico, Fl, Haley Lynn (Jason) Green of Brandon, FL, and Russell Kent Zwerner of Valrico, Fl; 4 grandchildren, Miranda Nugent, Ty Nugent, Brady Green, and Justin Green; 2 brothers, Paul (Jan) Zwerner of Terre Haute, William (Diana) Zwerner of Terre Haute; a sister, Ann (John) Caldwell of Terre Haute. He was preceded in death by his wife and parents. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Monday, July 8 at Roselawn Funeral Home. A funeral ceremony will take place at 1:00 p.m. following the visitation; Pastor Kyle Andrews officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Park.
