Dorothy Mets Patterson

Dorothy (Dot) Mets Patterson of Virginia Beach, passed away peacefully on May 9th after a long illness. She was preceded in death by her husband William (Bill) W. Patterson Jr. She is survived by her daughter Kim Cunningham of TN; son Trip Patterson and his wife Julie and two daughters Autumn and Natalie of NJ; and daughter Tricia Rogerson and her husband Brian and four sons Jake, Troy, Mark and Mike of Virginia Beach. Raised in Millburn NJ, the daughter of the late Theodore and Ruth Hunt Mets, she graduated from Millburn High School and Centinary College. Dot was ahead of her time forging a career. She worked directly for Thomas Watson, Jr. at IBM in Boston and New York City. She left the workforce to raise her family and moved to Virginia Beach in 1964. She felt privileged to combine her passion for the Lord with her business skills when she joined CBN. She retired from CBN as Director of Major Donor Ministry. In retirement, Dot enjoyed spending time with her six grandchildren at the beach and around the pool. Multiple excursions to Disney World were a treat for the entire family. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, June 9, 2018, 10:00 a.m. at Rosewood-Kellum Funeral Home.
