Josephine Audrey Arellano

Josephine “Jody” Arellano, 68, passed away peacefully at home on September 2, 2018 surrounded by her family and friends. She was born to the late Thurman Neal and Bessie Coleman and was also predeceased by her husband Paul Arellano; her sister, Lottie Forehand; and step-son, Winnie Arellano. Josephine retired from Tidewater Convenience after 15 years and was an avid Bingo player who loved reading and spending time with her loving family and friends. She is survived by her daughters, Rhonda Fortin (Dan) and Carla Carlson; step-children, Imelda Maso and Jerry Arellano and their families; her grandchildren, Glenn Martin, Jr., Crista Martin, Nicole Martin, Thyme Fortin, Clayton Fortin, Rosemary Fortin and Jessica Carlson; great-grandchildren, Grayson and Paisley; brother, Robert Neal; sisters, Ella Doe (Mike) and Jennifer Cave (Ted); extended family, the Bryants; and several nieces and nephews. The family sends special thanks to the staffs of Virginia Oncology, Sentara Leigh and Sentara Hospice. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8pm on Wednesday, September 5th at Smith & Williams Funeral Home, Kempsville Chapel.
