IN THE CARE OF
Rosewood-Kellum Funeral Home & Rosewood Memorial Park
Kenneth R. Maury, Sr., 68, passed away peacefully in his sleep on January 3rd. He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Barbara Maury; sister, Bonnie Schindledecker; children, Robert Maury, Jr., Candice Grayson, Patricia Rankin, Carol Waters, Jane Friddell, Ruth Dziwulski; and numerous adoring grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
The response and outpouring of love and support over the last few days depicts the impact that he had on so many lives, both young and old.
Ken was a rare combination of someone who had a love of life and a firm understanding of what was important – the simplicity of living life with the ones you love. He always put family first and took great pride in celebrating each of their accomplishments, big or small. His favorite moments were spent holding his wife’s hand while watching classic movies, shopping for just about everyone, and enjoying all things Christmas or Colonial Williamsburg. He also enjoyed rooting for Navy football and the Baltimore Ravens, as well as talking about National Park trips and politics.
Although our hearts are heavy, we will celebrate his life and find comfort that he is in heaven watching over us.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Rosewood-Kellum Funeral Home on Saturday, January 26th at 2pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Tree of Lives (treeoflives.org), Emory United Methodist Church (emoryumchurch.org) and Union Mission (unionmissionministries.org). Friends and family are invited to sign the online guestbook at www.kellumfuneralhome.com.
