Leroy Kilby Guthrie
April 2, 1935 – July 1, 2018

Leroy Kilby Guthrie, born in Sommerville, MA, left this life to join his parents, Lucas and Mildred Guthrie with the Lord, on July 1, 2018. He became a Master Mason in 2001 and was a Shriner. He was a self-taught drummer, who loved playing with the bands and musicians including Norview High School band, Army Band, Walter Noona Trio with Bruce Blanchard, Jeep Bennetts Dixie Land Band, with Billy Morris and Lou Sacks, the Metro Band as well as the Shriners Band.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Billie Jean Guthrie; his daughter, Delayne Guthrie; his step-children, Christine, Cindy (deceased), Douglas and Melissa; 4 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; his sister, Mildred Walling; his niece and nephew.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, July 6, 2018 at Rosewood Kellum Funeral Home, with a visitation beginning one hour prior. Burial will follow at Rosewood Memorial Park.
