Dolores "Dee" Kerns

Dolores “Dee” Jacqueline (Thorne) Kerns, 85 of Waynesboro passed away on October 22, 2021 at her home surrounded by family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Saylor and Lavelle Thorne; husband, Jennings Lee Kerns; and daughter, Denise Lynn Cline.
She leaves behind two children, Angela Cline Craig (Chris), Tonya Kerns Eimer (Barry); three grandchildren, Laura Craig-Sims (Dave), Joshua Craig, Alyssa Eimer; sister, Patricia Campbell; brother, Howard Thorne (Sharon); as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Dolores graduated from Waynesboro High School and Dunsmore Business College. She retired from the DuPont Company with 35 years of service. She was a member of Waynesboro Church of the Brethren where she served as Treasurer, taught the children’s choir and actively sang in the adult choir until she was 80.
She will be remembered by her sweet spirit, kindness, sense of humor and love for her Lord.
The family will receive friends at her residence from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 26, 2021. There will be no public viewing.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 27, 2021 at the Waynesboro Church of the Brethren, 364 Bridge Ave., Waynesboro. Burial will follow in Augusta Memorial Park.
Active pallbearers for the service will be Joshua Craig, David Sims, Chad Thorne, Chris Gilman, Mickey Bryan, Dwayne Craig.
Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Waynesboro Church of the Brethren.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Waynesboro Church of the Brethren, 364 Bridge Ave., Waynesboro, VA 22980 or Second Presbyterian Church, P.O. Box 1762, Waynesboro, VA 22980.
