Obituary of Lucille N. Snead
Eleanor Lucille (Niedentohl) Snead, 94, of Waynesboro, Virginia passed away on Monday, January 21, 2019, at the home of her son and daughter-in-law, after a brief illness. She was born in Waynesboro, Pennsylvania on October 12, 1924, a daughter of the late William Piper and Anna Mae (Harrison) Niedentohl. Lucille was a long time member of Wayne Hills Baptist Church and the Joy Sunday School class where she left many long-time friends. Before her retirement, she worked for over 25 years at the Sears Catalog Order Store in Waynesboro. She loved wild birds, playing bingo, puzzle books and spending time at Springdale Apartments in Waynesboro where she left many special friends. She loved spending time with her caring family as well. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, John P. Carsello; second husband, Paul T. Snead; siblings, William P. Niedentohl, Merle E. Niedentohl, and his first wife, Joan, Jerry M. Niedentohl, Lee W. Niedentol , Ruby V. Allamong and her husband, Theodore, LaRue Stine and her husband, Preston and his second wife, Doris Stine. Left to cherish her memory is her sister, Pauline “Polly” Broyles; sisters-in-law, Jill W. Clark, Alice Snead, Rhoda Niedentohl and Barbara Niedentohl; children, Jessica S. Withers and husband, Jeffrey “Scott”, Mark P. Snead and wife, Pearly C., and Todd T. Snead; grandchildren, Bryan S. Withers and fiancée, Grace, Carrie A. Withers and fiancée, Hannah, and David Withers; as well as many very special nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 27, 2019, at the Waynesboro Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes. A memorial service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, January 28, 2019, at the funeral home with Pastors Danny Campbell and Jamie McClanahan officiating. Burial will be held at a later date at Green Hill Cemetery in Waynesboro, Pennsylvania.
