Lynn Gibson

Lynnward Leigh Gibson, 81, passed away on Sunday, October 6, 2019 at the Shenandoah Hospice House in Fishersville.
She was born August 10, 1938 in Tazwell County, a daughter of the late Robert Sydney and Mary (Atkins) Gillespie.
Mrs. Gibson was a homemaker and the last member of her immediate family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Robert J. Stockman and her second husband, James T. Gibson; sons, Petey Stockman and Christopher Gibson; and a daughter, Mary Stockman.
Survivors include a son, Michael J. Gibson and wife, Michelle of Waynesboro; daughters, Lisa Gillespie and husband, Mark of West Augusta, Deborah Gibson and husband, Kenny of Roanoke, Juanita “Faye” Chittum and husband, Chucky of Staunton. She also leaves a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Following cremation, the family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 10, 2019 at the Waynesboro Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes, 618 W. Main Street, Waynesboro, Va.
Family and friends will be received at the home of her son, Michael Gibson, 698 Dooms Crossing Road, Waynesboro from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 9, 2019.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Lynn’s memory to the Alzheimer’s Association, 355 Rio Road W, Suite 102, Charlottesville, VA 22901 or online at www.alz.org.
