Obituary of Marie Louise "Mimi" Goold
Marie Louise “Mimi” Goold, 87, of Waynesboro passed away Friday, December 13, 2013 at her residence surrounded by her family. Born February 9, 1926 in Marcilly, France, she was the daughter of the late Auguste and Clothide (Curé) Voiseux. On February 14, 1953 she married the love of her life and soul mate, Roger Goold. The two shared a blessed union of 60 years together. Having made Stillwater, NJ her home for many years, she was employed as a sales clerk for Britts Department Store from 1963-1973 and later in life she was employed by Selective Insurance Company of America where she worked as an accountant for 20 years until she retired. While living in New Jersey she was a member of Harmony Hill United Methodist Church. As a member she served as the church treasurer for many years. After retiring and moving to Virginia, she soon joined Fishersville United Methodist Church where she was an active member. In 1996, Marie Louise began volunteering with Meals on Wheels in the Fishersville community and had been delivering meals to shut ins up until the past two years until her health declined. In her spare time, she enjoyed gardening, especially her roses, traveling and knitting. She will be remembered as a collector of treasures and loved ones. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Marcel Voiseux. In addition to her husband, survivors include her four loving children, Dominique Goold and wife, Oya of Keller, TX, Jeanmarie Goold of Waynesboro, VA, Blair Goold and wife, Joan of Beachwood, NJ and Marc Goold and wife, Sonja of Warner Robins, GA; grandchildren, Alangu Goold and wife, Coree, Matthew Goold and wife, Kirby, Anna Goold and Rebecca Goold; great-granddaughter, Evelyn Goold; sister, Martha Froment of France. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, December 16, 2013 at Fishersville United Methodist Church with Pastor Larry Jent officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church and also at the church following the interment. Active pallbearers will be Dominique Goold, Blair Goold, Marc Goold, Robert Edgett, John Baker and Billy Beach. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association.
