Wade Hampton Strickler

Wade Hampton Strickler, 83, of Waynesboro passed away Thursday, May 10, 2018 at Augusta Health.
Born February 17, 1935 in Waynesboro, he was the son of the late Emmett Lee and Virginia Lilley (Allison) Strickler.
Wade was a member of Waynesboro Church of Christ. Prior to retirement, He was employed by the City of Waynesboro where he was a faithful employee for a number of years. Wade was a U.S. Veteran having served his country honorably with the Marines. He will be remembered as a loving father, grandfather and someone who never met a stranger and made everyone a friend.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Frances Massie Strickler and one brother, Emmett Frank Strickler.
Survivors include his daughter, Linda Strickler Taylor of Waynesboro and his granddaughter, Catherine Taylor of Waynesboro.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, May 14, 2018 at Augusta Memorial Park with Minister Allen Close officiating. All who plan to attend are asked to meet directly at the cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 13, 2018 at the Waynesboro Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes, 618 W. Main St.
