Goldie Long Baker

Goldie Long Baker, 98, of Mt. Crawford, passed away on Sunday, November 19, 2017 at Sentara-RMH Medical Center. She had not enjoyed good health for the last three years.
She was born on October 8, 1919 in Rockingham County and was the daughter of the late John William and Minnie Hawkins Long.
Goldie was a lifelong resident of Rockingham County and a lifetime member of Friedens Church. She enjoyed gardening and making flower arrangements.
On November 22, 1947 she married Calvin William Baker, who preceded her in death on July 22, 2012.
She is survived by two daughters, Lois B. Kisling and husband, Marvin, of Harrisonburg, V. Carol Breeden and husband, James, of Mt. Crawford; several nieces and one nephew.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a nephew, Bill Landis; her siblings, Ethel Landis, Catherine Deavers, Thelma Rhodes and Lera Long.
There will be no visitation and the casket will be closed.
A graveside service will be held 11:00 am, Wednesday, November 22, 2017 at St. Paul Cemetery in Weyers Cave, with Rev. Doyle Payne officiating.
