Josefa Miranda de Reyther

April 23, 1939June 8, 2018

José C. Reyther, his eldest son Edgar, triplets Guadalupe, Joseph and Josephine, and Lorena [with son-in-law José Barrios Castañeda], and his grandchildren Melía, Patli, Olín and Nathaniel, take part in the gentle passing of JOSEFA REYTHER, 79, wife, mother, mother-in-law and grandmother, which occurred on June 8, 2018 surrounded by her family. Born in Progreso, Municipality of Rio Verde, San Luis Potosi, Mexico on April 23, 1939, she was the second of 12 children born to Catalina Rios de Miranda and Reymundo Miranda [both deceased]. After marrying Jose Reyther in 1971, she moved to Denver, Colorado in 1972 and started her family. She was a talented seamstress, having received her sewing certificate in 1967 and having bought her first Singer sewing machine shortly thereafter. She liked to cook regional Mexican foods (her menudo, beans and enchiladas were the best!) and gather her loved ones to share the meals. She was passionate about attending the holy catholic mass at St. Cajetan Church every weekend ever since it was located at the old Auraria neighborhood in downtown. For over 25 years, she enjoyed helping to teach catechism to children and serving as Minister of the Holy Communion at Mass and at nursing homes in the community. She is remembered with much love and admiration for her faith in God, her generosity, patience, strength and perseverance and for her kind heart.

I grew up seeing you everyday of my childhood years growing up. You always smiled and fed me every time I walked through the kitchen. You knew how to keep a home and it always felt warm and welcoming. Rest in Paradise Josefa. ❤️
I am blessed to have known and met you growing up.
