Janet M. Marlatt, 73, of Williamsburg, passed away on October 31, 2013. She enjoyed gardening, golfing, traveling, and spending time with her grandchildren. She was an extremely kind, thoughtful, and outgoing person who was known for her smile and generosity. Janet is survived by her husband of 52 years, Bob Marlatt; children, Susan Hartman and her husband Brian, and Geoffrey Marlatt and his wife Jane; grandchildren, Eric and Sarah Hartman, Jim, Katie, Emily, Colleen, and Bobby Marlatt; and brother, Robert T. Montague and his wife Tina. A visitation will take place on Monday, November 4, 5-7 p.m. at Nelsen Funeral Home, 3785 Strawberry Plains Rd., Williamsburg, VA 23188. A service will be held on November 5 at 11AM at Nelsen Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation, 383 Main Ave, 5th Floor, Norwalk, CT 06851. Online condolences may be offered at
