Lavina Alberta Gresham

Lavina "Vi" Gresham, 88, passed away January 18, 2016. Born in Concordia, KS in 1927, Vi trained to be a physical therapist and worked with polio patients in the 1950s. Vi was a longtime member of Third Presbyterian Church in Richmond, VA, and volunteered for many years with Meals on Wheels in Richmond. In her free time, Vi enjoyed traveling, baking, bowling, and reading.
Vi is preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Bryan B. Gresham, Jr., her brother Milbern Horkman, her granddaughter Grace Monteith, and her parents Anton and Fanny Horkman. She is survived by her children Anthony Gresham of Richmond, VA; Meg Gresham of Springfield, MA; Betsey (Kyle) Burbank of Lowville, NY; Barbara (Marty) Monteith of Williamsburg, VA, and grandchildren Josiah, Abraham, Malachi & Isaiah Burbank; Kelly and Ryan Monteith.
Visitation will take place at Nelsen Funeral Home in Williamsburg on Monday, January 25 from 6:00 – 8:00 PM. A memorial service will be held at Williamsburg United Methodist Church, 500 Jamestown Rd., at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, January 26, followed by internment in Greenwood Memorial Gardens in Richmond, VA at 2:00 PM.
