Obituary of Leota "Lee" Kueser

IN THE CARE OF

Nelsen Williamsburg

Leota Ann Coughlin Kueser (Lee) was born August 1, 1933 in Florence, Kansas to James and Helen Coughlin. She grew up in the towns of Leavenworth, Kansas and Richmond, Kansas. She married Francis Blaise Kueser (Frank) on May 30, 1952. Frank and Lee raised seven children and made their home in Overland Park, Kansas, West Bloomfield, Michigan, Great Falls, Virginia and Williamsburg, Virginia. Lee was a devout Catholic. Her faith and love of the Lord was apparent in everything she did. She was friendly to everyone she met and made all feel welcome. Forever the optimist, Lee always believed the best in others. She saw the good, the potential, and never judged. Lee loved others and many people love her. She loved her family unconditionally. Her seven children and their spouses, 21 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren were her most precious jewels. Having family around her filled her with joy. Lee volunteered for FISH in Williamsburg for over 25 years, was a member of the Kingsmill Ladies Golf Club, volunteered for the Kingsmill LPGA events, was a JOY minister and a hospice volunteer for many years. She was an avid reader, a master at cross stitch, expert sudoku solver, and especially loved a good game of bridge. Lately, her favorite game was Rummikub, challenging anyone who would take her on. Lee was a great example to her children: Butch and his wife Jackay, Pam and her husband Mark Sexton, Cindy and her husband Mike Hill, Jim and his wife Michelle, Chris and wife Christine, Joe and his wife Carla, and John. Grandchildren are Jessica, Jimmy, Erin, Patrick, Justin, Roxanne, Nick, Brian, Zachary, Kaylea, Annette, Kirsten, Alec, Jaisen, Kacie, Thomas, James, Mary, Sydney, Izzy and Grace and great grandchildren are Blaise, Amy, Rylan, Wesley, Rowan, Marlee, Vera, Kaelin and Levi. She is also survived by her sister, Mary McCain; brother, Mart Coughlin (Marlys); sisters-in-law, Theresa Schermerhorn, Annette Kueser and Marie Robertson (Jerry). She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband of 66 years, Frank. Lee’s radiant smile, halo of white hair, twinkling brown eyes and big heart will never be forgotten! Mass will be held on Monday, August 2, 2021 beginning at 11AM at St. Bede Catholic Church, 3686 Ironbound Rd., Williamsburg, VA 23188. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a donation in Lee’s name to FISH of Williamsburg at https://williamsburgfish.weebly.com/donate.html.
