IN THE CARE OF
Nelsen Williamsburg
Margaret Ann Berrean (Peggy), age 78, of Williamsburg, Virginia passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, January 18, 2022.
Peggy was born on September 18, 1943 in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania to Laurence and Margaret Fitzhenry (Zanine). She was raised in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and graduated from Cardinal Dougherty High School and Germantown Hospital School of Nursing. After graduation from nursing school, she joined the Air Force in 1967 and served at several military bases around the world. She married her husband, Dennis, in 1983 and retired from the Air Force in 1987 at the rank of Major. Always a nurse, Peggy continued to care for her mother until she passed away at age 87, as well as her husband later in his life after retirement.
Peggy often spoke fondly of her time in the service, both as a service member and later as a military spouse, and of the numerous friends she made throughout her military journey. She had many friends, keeping in close contact with several from her grade school days, her time in the military, and her neighbors in Williamsburg where she lived for the past 32 years. She was an active member of Saint Bede Catholic Church.
Peggy enjoyed traveling and loved to tell stories and share photographs of her adventures which included visiting each of the seven continents and cruising in each of the seven seas. She was deeply loved by all who knew her and was a cherished daughter, sister, aunt, wife, mother, grandmother, and friend.
She is survived by her husband of 38 years, Dennis; children, Beth, Terry, and Chris; brothers, Laurence, Louis, and Robert; as well as several nieces, nephews, and grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her mother, father, and brother, James.
There will be a Memorial Mass Friday, January 28th at St. Bede Cathlic Church, 3686 Ironbound Rd., Williamsburg, VA at 11:00AM.
