Adele M. Bender

Adele Marie (Kummer) Bender entered into eternal peace on Sunday, January 24, 2021 with her daughter Jane by her side. She was born April 8, 1929 in Parkston, SD to the late Joseph and Adele (Wieger) Kummer. She and her husband Virgil came from South Dakota in 1970 to form Bromwell Business College, later becoming Lockyear Business College. Adele retired as a controller at BFI in 1989. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. Adele was preceded in death by her husband, Virgil C. Bender; brothers, Victor, William and Raymond; sisters, Madonna Rich and Helen Sayler; son, Patrick Leo Bender, and daughter, Jodele Marie Bender. She is survived by her daughters, Jane Mosby of Evansville and Mary Saltzman of Tampa; granddaughter, Johnna Marie Mosby; great-grandson, Karter Shawn Barnett and sister, Betty O’Brien of Omaha, NE. The family would like to thank the staff at Newburgh Healthcare for their compassionate care of Adele. Private services will be held with burial in St. John Cemetery.
