Mary "Diane" Blankenship

Mary “Diane” Blankenship, 86, of Carmel, departed this life Monday, February 1, 2021. Diane was born August 19, 1934 in West Bend, Wisconsin. She was a 1951 graduate of Divine Savior Academy in Milwaukee, WI. Diane worked for over 25 years at Micro Carbide Tool & Die as a Purchasing Agent. She had also attended I.U.P.U.I. Diane was a member of Church at the Crossing, and the American Business Women’s Association where she had served as President. Diane loved being a member of the Murat Shrine Guild and a member of Smyrna where she served as Maharanee. She was happiest making memories with, and helping to raise her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Diane was preceded in death by her parents, Florence Teske and Daniel Lang; her son, Thomas Fiddler; and her husbands, Francis Fiddler, Charles Whitsitt, and James Blankenship. She is survived by her beloved children, Barbara Lewis, James Fiddler (Cindy), John Fiddler (Janet), Joseph Fiddler, Mary Ellen Bache and Dorothy Hood (Steven); Her devoted grandchildren, Jennifer Alerding, Jessica Farr, Jeffrey Fiddler, Jamie Soliva, Samuel Hood, Maxwell Hood and Spencer Hood and dear great-grandchildren, Aydan Alerding, Isaac Alerding, Jaxson Farr, Adalynn Fiddler and Miles Soliva and a host of longtime friends. Visitation for Diane will begin at 1:00 pm on Friday, February 5th at Church at the Crossing (9111 Haverstick Rd) and conclude at time of funeral service at 3:00 pm. Interment follows at Carmel Cemetery in Carmel, Indiana. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Diane’s name are suggested to: Alzheimer’s Association.
