Peggy Joan Purtlebaugh

Peggy Joan Purtlebaugh, 82, of Bloomington passed away Wednesday morning, April 28, 2021 at her residence. Born January 12, 1939 in Bloomington, she was the daughter of Elva and Betty (Culross) Lane. She was a homemaker and a wonderful mother. She had formerly worked at Columbia House in Bloomington and at Essex in Martinsville. She enjoyed reading the Bible and feeding the numerous hummingbirds and squirrels that frequented her home. Peggy is survived by her loving children, Kevin Purtlebaugh, of Bloomington, Steven Purtlebaugh, of Martinsville, Karen (Timothy Fleener) Purtlebaugh, of Bloomington, Brian (Ryan Sullivan) Purtlebaugh, of Columbus, Indiana, Sheryl (Mike Franklin) Wythe, of Unionville, Bradley Joe Purtlebaugh, of Bloomington and Kyle Andrew Purtlebaugh, of Elkhart, Indiana; two sisters, Connie Foley and Debbie Nichols, both of Bloomington and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Alvin Wayne Purtlebaugh on July 27, 1997 and one daughter, Candis Elaine Moore. The private family funeral service will be at 7:00 p.m. Saturday (05/01) at the Day & Deremiah-Frye Funeral Home; 4150 E. Third St. A visitation for the family will be prior to the service from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Saturday.
