Carolyn Foley Lantz

Carolyn Foley Lantz, age 77, of Staunton, beloved mom, nana, sister, aunt and friend, went home to be with her Lord on September 2, 2021.
Born May 1, 1944, in Augusta County, VA, she was the daughter of the late Howard and Madge Foley.
Carolyn was a Wilson Memorial High School graduate, class of 1961, and Elizabeth Brant School of Business, class of 1962. She married George Max Lantz on March 6, 1964, in Reedsville, NC. Before retirement in 2013, she worked as a secretary for Home I.V. Care, Stuarts Draft, VA, for 23 years. Additionally, she worked with Sarah Coventry Jewelry home party sales while a stay-at-home mom. She also worked retail at Belk/Leggett and The Fashion Gallery. In retirement, she enjoyed working part-time as a Funeral Assistant at Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes. She was a member of the Waynesboro Choral Society and sang for many years in her church choir.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Max.
Carolyn is survived by her daughters, Sharon Lalk and husband, Steve of North Chesterfield, VA and Karen Cvik and husband, Ryan of Springfield, VA.; grandchildren, Emily Bailey and husband, Cody, Lauren Lalk, Grant Cvik, and Claire Cvik; great-grandchildren, Max and Hazel Bailey; sister, Janette Fortney of Fishersville, VA; sister-in-law, Maggie Clingan Alspach of Westminster, MD; and nieces and nephews.
A private graveside service will be held at Augusta Memorial Park, Waynesboro. A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
There will be no public viewing or visitation at the funeral home.

The family of Carolyn wishes to extend a sincere thanks to the doctors and nurses who cared for her at Bon Secours St. Francis Medical Center, Midlothian, VA. We would also like to thank Lindsey Whitmore of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes for her above and beyond service to our family.
