Gerald "Jake" S. Land, Sr.

Gerald “Jake” Sykes Land, Sr., 90, passed away on Wednesday, September 22, 2021 in Virginia Beach. Jake was born in Smithtown, NY to the late Norman and Madeline Land. He was also predeceased by his brother, Norman Bud Land, Jr. Jake was a dedicated and loving husband, father and grandfather. He was an Army Veteran who served during the Korean War as well as a member of the American Legion. He volunteered for 30 years as a firefighter with the Smithtown, Nissequogue and Ronkonkoma fire departments. He is cherished in memory by his wife, Kathy Land; children, Glen Havjar, Joseph Havjar, Alicia Havjar and Jerry Land, Jr.; grandchildren, Lucia, Grace and Emmet. A graveside service will be conducted at 10am, Friday, October 8, 2021 at AG Horton Veterans Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Suffolk, VA.
