Dennis Ray Duke
January 3, 1958 – October 10, 2021

Dennis R. Duke was born to Donald Duke & Carol (Duke) Stout in Madison, IN January 3, 1958. He attended schools there and graduated in 1976; where he played basketball and baseball all four years and was awarded the best all-around athlete that year. He attended college in South Florida and was then employed several years as Manager of drug stores in Indiana. Most recently he was employed at the Jay C Store in Edinburgh where he lived.
He was of the Christian Faith and enjoyed listening to Christian music.
He is survived by children, Sean Duke of Bedford; ,daughter, Kayla (Terry) Ross of Orleans, IN; mother and step-father Carol and Al Stout of Taylorsville, IN; ,sister, Candice Orem of Dallas, TX; brothers, David (Kelly) Duke of Columbus, Duane (Traci) Duke of Milton, KY; 2 step-sisters, Dana Carson and Tammy Lewis of Columbus; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Don Duke; brother, Doug Duke; step-sister, Karen Burris.
A funeral service will be conducted Friday at 11:00 a.m. at Myers~Reed Chapel on 25th Street with Don Ping officiating, Visitation Thursday 4~7 p.m. and from 10:00 a.m. Friday to service at the funeral home. Burial will be in Garland Brook Cemetery. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.myers-reed.com.
Memorials may be directed to the Columbus Foundation for Youth.
