Lucienne “Lucie” Lowrance Amiel, 63, of Newburgh, passed away Sunday, October 16, 2011, at Deaconess Hospice Care Center. She was born September 10, 1948, in Manhattan NYC.
Lucie grew up in Austria, Brazil and Madrid, graduating from Madrid High School in 1967, before settling in Dayton where she worked for many years as a nursing assistant. She moved to Newburgh about ten years ago and for the past four years has been her mom’s primary caregiver. She is a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church and was a lover of all animals, especially cats.
She was preceded in death by her father, Henri Amiel.
Lucie is survived by her mother, Hallie Amiel; brother, Paul Amiel; sister, Christine McDaniel; nieces, Kathy, Marie and Claire; and nephews, Reid, Jim, John and Michael.
A Funeral Mass will be 11:00 AM Thursday, October 20, 2011, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 625 Frame Road, Newburgh, officiated by Fr. Joseph Ziliak, with burial in Rose Hill Cemetery.
