Michael Don Artman

Michael Don "Mick" Artman, 66, of King George, Virginia passed away Saturday, December 10, in King George of complications from diabetes. He was born September 15, 1945, in Lebanon, Indiana. He was preceded in death by his parents Donald Eugene Artman and Maxine Hamilton Artman and his brother Richard Eugene Artman, all of Sheridan, Indiana. He was married to Sharon Lee Brandenburg on August 2, 1969 in Noblesville, Indiana. He had a lifelong love of farming and agriculture. He farmed in Indiana until 1975 and worked in agribusiness in North Carolina and Virginia until 1999. From 2000 through 2006 he was a real estate agent in the Fredericksburg area. Michael is survived by wife Sharon Lee Artman of King George, Virginia and his two children Elizabeth Artman Plaster and her husband James Walton Plaster, of Asheville, North Carolina and his son Matthew Michael Artman of Chapel Hill, North Carolina. He has two grand children, Michael Walton and Anna Grace Plaster. The family will receive friends in a celebration of his life from 3:30- 5:30 Friday, December 16th at Stewart’s Steak House, in Sheridan, Indiana. The funeral will be private.
