David Gayle Abshire

David Gayle Abshire, 65, of Martinsville, died Thursday, April 5, 2012 at Blue Ridge Rehab Center where he was a resident. He was born in Martinsville, December 7, 1946 to John A. and Ramona Dillon Abshire, both deceased. He was employed by American Furniture Company for 25 years and was a member of Starling Avenue Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, John A. Abshire, Jr. He is survived by a brother and sister-in-law, Raymond and Faye Abshire of Ridgeway; two nephews, Anthony and Michael Abshire of Ridgeway; cousin and caregivers, Warren and Betty Robertson of Martinsville. A memorial service will be held Saturday, April 7, 2012 at 12:00 Noon at McKee-Stone Funeral Home in Martinsville with the Rev. Dr. David Adkins officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will be private. Memorial contributions may be considered for the Deaf Ministry at Starling Avenue Baptist Church, 932 Starling Avenue, Martinsville, VA 24112.
