Thursa Lou Edwards Allen

Thursa Lou Allen, age 94, of Bloomington, died Wednesday morning at her residence. Born September 23, 1917 in Homer, Illinois, she was the daughter of Ralph and Josie (Robinson) Edwards. She retired as the office manager for Orthrodontic Dentists Dr. Reister and Dr. Coghlan. She and her husband loved to travel extensively and gained many friends across the United States from these travels. They enjoyed a lengthy retirement and made their winter home in McAllen, Texas for many years. She is survived by her daughter, Bonnie Allen, of Murfreesboro, Tennessee; two sons and their wives, Bryce Allen and Vicki Perry, of Bloomington and Buddy and Angie Allen, also of Bloomington, four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband, J. Kenneth Allen, in 2008 and one daughter, Francie Kirk, also in 2008. Graveside funeral services will be held on Friday at 3:00 P.M. at Valhalla Memory Gardens. Friends may visit the family from 1:00 to 2:00 P.M. Friday at Day Funeral Home in Bloomington prior to going to the cemetery.
