RUTH ENYART BLACK
Ruth Enyart Black, 95, died on Thursday, February 7, 2013 at North Woods Commons in Kokomo, Indiana. Born January 29, 1918, in Fulton County, she was the daughter of Charles Thomas Enyart and Angeline E (Conn) Enyart. On January 23, 1944, she was married to Eugene E. Black in the Fulton United Brethren Church by Rev Stacy F. Shaw.
She went to school in Fulton, Indiana and graduated in 1935 from Argos High School, Argos, Indiana, and then attended Indiana Central College in Indianapolis. She was a member of Bible Baptist Church, in Kokomo, for 46 years.
For 37 years, Mrs. Black was the co-owner of Black Magazine Agency in Logansport which supplied magazine subscriptions to schools and public libraries in the United States and countries abroad. Upon retirement, she and her husband moved to Kokomo and spent winters in Mesa, Arizona.
Mrs. Black loved painting and making baby gowns for Riley Children's Hospital in Indianapolis. Her other interests were travel, reading, and, especially, watching the Pacer basketball games. Foremost in her life was her relationship with her Lord and Savior, her joy of her family and being a homemaker, and entertaining friends.
She is survived by one son, Philip Black and wife Judy, Chicago; two daughters, Marcia Goldstein, Mississauga, Ontario, Canada, and Beverly Timberman, Collierville, TN; one sister, Maxine Elliott and husband Van, El Cajon, CA; two granddaughters, Rachel Goldstein-Davis and husband Steve Davis, and Elizabeth Goldstein; one great-grandson, Eli Davis; two step-grandchildren, Kellie Combs, and Kurt Timberman and wife Brandy; five step-great-grandchildren, Josh Combs, Allie Combs, Jared Timberman, Faith Timberman, and Riley Timberman; nieces, Nelda Mikesell and husband Cliff, Rochester, IN, Donna Conroy and husband Jim, Denver, CO, and Colleen Grimson and husband John, San Diego; and one nephew, Jay Enyart, Denver, CO.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene on September 18, 1996; her parents; two brothers, Robert and Wilbur; and one sister, Arabelle.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Sunset Memory Garden Funeral Home, Kokomo, with calling one hour prior. Rev William Carmichael, Rev Keith Treadway, and Rev Van C Elliott will officiate. Graveside committal services will be at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at Fulton Cemetery, Fulton. Memorial contributions can be made to Bible Baptist Church in Kokomo or the charity of your choice.
