Deacon Robert Eugene deLadurantaye

Of Front Royal, VA died on Wednesday, February 27, 2013. Beloved husband of Ann P. deLadurantaye of 57 years; father of Reverend Paul F. deLadurantaye and Thomas J. deLadurantaye; brother of Raymond deLadurantaye and Olive deLadurantaye. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, family and friends. Deacon deLadurantaye, a US Marine Corps veteran who fought at Iwo Jima, retired from the Federal Government after 35 years. Ordained as a deacon, in June 1985, for the Diocese of Arlington, Deacon deLadurantaye would go on to serve at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Annandale, VA, and also St. John Bosco Catholic Church in Woodstock, VA. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and worked for the Office of Vocations for the Catholic Diocese of Arlington. Friends may call at Murphy Funeral Home of Arlington, 4510 Wilson Blvd, from 7-9 pm on Monday, March 4, 2013 and where the Rosary and prayers will be recited at 7:45 pm . A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at the Cathedral of St. Thomas More, 3901 N. Cathedral Lane, Arlington, VA 22203, on Tuesday, March 5, at 10 am. Interment in Fairfax Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Diocese of Arlington Office of Vocations or The Loaves and Fishes food pantry, in care of Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Arlington.
